- As at 2014, Woodlands’ population stood at 250,180.
- Planned to be developed over the next 10 to 15 years as a live-work-play centre.
- Estimated to offer 100,000 new jobs when it is fully developed.
- It will be well-connected to the city via the North-South, and future Thomson MRT lines, and to Malaysia via the future cross-border rail link.

NEWPORT RESIDENCES SHOWFLAT LAUNCH PREVIEW
Some interesting facts about the Newport condo. City fringe freehold new mixed development called Newport Plaza at 80 Anson Road in Tanjong Pagar. Comprising the residential component Newport Residences, with the commercial component of Newport Tower. The site is owned and being redeveloped by City Developments Limited.
It has the advantage of being close to Prince Edward Road MRT station on the Circle Line as well as within walking distance of Tanjong Pagar Station on the East-West MRT line.
Newport Residences is basically on the fringe of the Tanjong Pagar and Maxwell Road end of the CBD (Central Business District), and as such, is within a prime district. Pricing-wise we can expect something in the mid-high range for the Newport Residences condo.
This project is also within 3 minutes drive of the future Greater Southern Waterfront. As such the opening of the Newport condo showflat is driving some anticipation, especially as it is rare for a mixed development so conveniently located, to be also freehold. Whether it will translate into sales is another matter, given the rather high pricing. Because word on the ground is that CDL is looking to to price Newport Residences at above $3,300 PSF.
